Co-Directors

The Omo Valley Research Project (OVRP) was founded in 2019 by anthropologists Luke Glowacki and Zachary Garfield, who have long-standing research and community ties in Ethiopia’s Omo Valley. Seeing the challenges many youth face in accessing education due to financial barriers, they established OVRP to support scholarships, mentorship, and community-engaged research partnerships. Committed to fostering educational opportunities and collaborative research, OVRP works to empower students and strengthen connections between scholars and local communities.
